(i) Candidates who score a minimum marks of 40% in each paper only will be considered eligible for inclusion of their name in the merit list. In respect of SC candidates, there will be relaxation of 5% of marks in each paper for eligibility.

(ii) The merit list will be drawn based on the performance of the candidate in both
papers and category-wise as per the reservation requirements.


(iii) The Paper must be answered in English.

(iv) Marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge.

(v) Deduction upto five percent of Maximum Marks will be made for illegible handwriting.

(vi) Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in all subjects of the examination.

2. Syllabus of the Examination:

GENERAL ENGLISH AND SHORT ESSAY:-

(i) Short Essay
(ii) General English- (a) Drafting (b) Precise writing and (c) Applied Grammar

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE INCLUDING GEOGRAPHY OF INDIA

The question will be in objective type. Knowledge of current events and of such
matters of day-today observations and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will include questions generally on History, General Economics and Geography of India particularly related to the Union Territory of Puducherry.

3. The admission may be deemed to be provisional. He/ She may please note that
if at any stage after issue of this Admission Intimation, if he/she is found to be ineligible for admission to the examination, his/her admission will be cancelled.

4. In the event of his/her selection to the post, his/her appointment will be subject to his/her fulfilling all the conditions of eligibility and also the correctness of the information furnished in the application.

5. The candidate should bring an Identification Certificate in the prescribed form (attached herewith) duly signed and attested by the Head of Department/Office along with the photo Identity Card issued by the Department/Office concerned. In the event of non-availability of Identity Card issued by the Department, the candidate is advised to affix the photo identity in the Identification Certificate duly attested by the Head of Department/Office.

6. No candidate shall be admitted to the examination hall after half-an-hour of the
commencement of the examination. No candidate shall be permitted to leave the examination hall until half-an-hour has elapsed after the commencement of the examination and during the last 5 minutes of the allotted time. The decision of the Supervisor, as to whether the time as indicated above for admission to or leaving the examination hall is over or not, and regarding expiry of the allotted time shall be final.

7. The candidate must write his/her name and official address only in the fly slip attached in the first page of the Answer Book.

8. Inside the Answer Book, he/she must not write his/her Hall Ticket number or
name, anywhere.

9. Mobile phones are prohibited in the examination centre. The candidate must abide by such instructions which may be given by the Supervisor/Invigilator of the examination. If the candidate fails to do so or indulges in disorderly or improper conduct, he/she will render himself/herself liable to expulsion from the Examination Hall and or such punishment as the Government may deem fit to impose.

11. The candidate should bring this Admission Intimation for both sessions to secure admission and be present in the Examination Hall half-an-hour before the commencement of the examination. He/She is also informed that no books/guides should be brought to the examination hall.

12. Candidates are requested to bring Pen /Ball-point pen, HB Pencil and eraser.
